This
course is designed for non-native teachers of English in
Secondary and Adult education.
Objectives The course objectives are
to improve and extend the teaching techniques of
teachers of English as a foreign language.
Teachers will be able to:

use different teaching
strategies to accommodate different learning styles

motivate and encourage
students
-
integrate the teaching of
reading, writing, listening and speaking skills
-
create activities to make
grammar and vocabulary learning more memorable
-
focus on the teaching of
pronunciation
-
use error correction
techniques effectively
-
adapt course book materials
to suit learner needs
Personal language development is an
important feature of the courses and will be based on
participants’ needs.
Preparation
Before the start of the course, participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire indicating
their level of English, qualifications, present teaching position, number of years teaching and
special interest areas. Orientation is held on the first day of the course.
The course director will introduce the course and ask for comments from the participants.
Course sessions will be adapted as appropriate.
Methodology
Practical and creative teaching
techniques will be presented using a range of teaching
methodologies. Participants will be able to try out new
techniques and strategies and give feedback as to how
these techniques can be applied to their own teaching
situation. Recently published ELT materials will be
suggested for further reading as well as online
resources appropriate to participants’ needs.
Follow-up
All participants will be required to
fill in a course evaluation questionnaire. Follow- up
support will be available via email. Further online
communication will be available where participants will
be able to share thoughts, experiences and teaching
ideas with colleagues from other countries, even after
the course finishes.

Course location:
Our school campus is situated in a converted villa, only 2 minutes from the sea in St. Paul’s Bay!
Course fee: 750.00 euro
Fee in euro for accommodation in our School Residential Apartments, in a single room/shared apartment on bed and breakfast basis, max 14 nights: 480.00
euro (Our School Residence is ideally located only 15-minutes walking distance from the school and 5 minutes from the town centre and seaside promenade).
CANCELLATION FEE: 250.00 euro
CANCELLATION RULES:
If the candidate is approved for funding and makes a confirmed booking with the school, but cancels 15 working days (Monday to Friday) or less before the course or accommodation start date (whichever comes first), this cancellation fee will apply.
PROVISION FOR
SPECIAL NEEDS: Participants with special needs (dietary,
religious, ethnic and childcare) will be welcomed.

If course number is less than 6, participants will join our General English course at their level in the morning from 09:00 – 12:30. The late morning and afternoon syllabus will be covered from 13:00 – 15:00, thus offered an extra 30 minutes of tuition each day.
